GIVE UP YOUR LIFE

@ 04:53 PM (33 months, 22 days ago)
Hymn:

 "On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest
and best, For a world of lost sinners was slain.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown." (George Bernard 1873-1958)

Scripture:

God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 6:14, (KJV)

Reflection:

I have often wondered what it would be like to give up my life for a friend.
To know that I would be humiliated and suffer.  That I would be persecuted
and die so that my friend could live.  You and I have a friend that did that
very thing for us.  Did you see the movie "The Passion", I hope you have
because it truly depicts what Jesus Christ must have went through. He
was humiliated beyond belief.  He was tortured and hung on the cross,
and left to suffer and die, so that you and I can live forever. Because of
that selfless act I cherish that cross. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS
BELIEVE IN THAT FRIEND AND YOU TOO WILL LIVE FOREVER!

Prayer:

How I praise you, Jesus, for the unselfish love that took you to the cross.
You are the greatest treasure of all and I cherish you.  When I look at
the cross, help me to see your beauty.  You are the Lamb of God,
Whose sacrifice pardons and cleanses me.  I look forward to seeing
you when you will be seated beside God the Father.     Welcome Me.
("How Sweet the Sound)  THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING GOD.
In Jesus Name Amen.
