Scripture:

Jesus said to Saul, "It is hard for you to kick against the pricks". (the pricks goads or prongs which were on the
harness of the oxen to keep them under control, to make the useful) (Acts 9:5, 26:14)

Reflection:

A lot of us seem to be constantly, "kicking against the pricks". We find ourselves always unhappy and fighting
with others when in reality our quarrel is not so much with others but with ourselves. The resentment we have towards
others is actually our own resentment of ourselves. GOD DOES NOT WANT THIS! He certainly does not want
us to be in rebellion against life and our own hurts and wrongs. Jesus wants us to stop and yield our resentments,
and our very will to Him. He wants us to live our lives with gentleness and patience. Then we will be happy with
ourselves and others. And in the end ourselves, along with others, will be drawn to Jesus Christ.

Prayer:

Oh Jesus heal the turmoil in my life. Give me the wisdom and strength to be happy with myself and others.
Grant me gentleness and patience in my life. Let You be seen through me. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING
GOD! in Jesus Name Amen............

Hymn:

"On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest
and best, For a world of lost sinners was slain.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown." (George Bernard 1873-1958)

Scripture:

God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 6:14, (KJV)

Reflection:

I have often wondered what it would be like to give up my life for a friend.
To know that I would be humiliated and suffer. That I would be persecuted
and die so that my friend could live. You and I have a friend that did that
very thing for us. Did you see the movie "The Passion", I hope you have
because it truly depicts what Jesus Christ must have went through. He
was humiliated beyond belief. He was tortured and hung on the cross,
and left to suffer and die, so that you and I can live forever. Because of
that selfless act I cherish that cross. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS
BELIEVE IN THAT FRIEND AND YOU TOO WILL LIVE FOREVER!

Prayer:

How I praise you, Jesus, for the unselfish love that took you to the cross.
You are the greatest treasure of all and I cherish you. When I look at
the cross, help me to see your beauty. You are the Lamb of God,
Whose sacrifice pardons and cleanses me. I look forward to seeing
you when you will be seated beside God the Father. Welcome Me.
("How Sweet the Sound) THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING GOD.
In Jesus Name Amen.

Scripture:

But your iniquities have separated
       you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear. (Isa. 59:2)

Reflection:

Every once in awhile I find myself getting really sad. Sometimes there is no joy in my life.
And whats even worst, is that I'm not sure why. Do you ever feel like that, you might be just
sitting in a chair watching tv, or reading, when suddenly you get really sad. Praise the Lord,
it's not that often. I've discovered that joy in my life depends on my having an unbroken
relationship with Jesus. If I have been spending much of my day steeped in sin, I have
found that when I sit down at night and rest in the old easy chair, and I'm really unhappy. Sin
separates me from God, sin hides Gods face from me. Thats when I'm unhappy. To feel
real joy in my life I have to have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Thats absolutely
necessary.

Prayer:

Oh Jesus Your are the joy of my life, keep me from sin which separates me from you.
Let you face always be in my presence. I ask for light in my life, the light that brings
me joy. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING GOD

In Jesus Name Amen
Scripture:

"One of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a

Reflection:

Have you ever been so discouraged, so angry that you look to the heavens and shout why me!
I know I have. Sometimes it just get to be to much doesn't it. I mean after all we can only take
so much. I've discovered something that I would like to pass along to you. The next time that you receive
a real blessing from God, I mean something that really makes your life happy and fulfilled, look to
the heavens and ask God that same question, why me? The answer is God's Grace, which is there
when we are blessed and when we are discouraged. Remember the next time you ask why me, God's
Grace is there for you. Why me? I pray that we ask it often. "Grattitude should be a continuous
attitude, not an occasional incident"

"I know not why God's wonderous grace, to me hath made known;
Nor why unworthy, Christ in love, redeemed me for His own" Whittle

Prayer:

Jesus I glorify You today, right here and now, I praise Your Holy Name,
Thank you for Your Grace, thank you that Your always there for me. I give you all my
all my worries here and now. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING GOD
Scripture:

"Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7

Reflection:

Sometimes at night I get bored at watching the same old tv show, so I change the channel to the
local religious channel. I sometimes find much better acting and entertainment on that channel
than I do on the regular networks. I often stand amazed at the emotionalism that is displayed
during so called confrontations of the devil. Now I'm not saying that it's not real or sincere, I'm
just saying that I'm amazed, because I have a different understanding of resisting the devil. I don't
resist the devil by shouting or swinging my arms, but by submitting to the One who can deal with
enemy of our souls. I trust in Jesus Christ for that victory. You see submission to God and not
our own devices, is the answer to resisting the devil. When it is said give the devil his due, I leave
that to the Savior of the world.

Prayer:

Oh Jesus, powerful and strong, I now give you the devil in my life, you oh Jesus our my
victory over evil, you are my resistance to Him. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING GOD
In Jesus Name Amen.

Reflection:

There are literally millions of people in this world who do not experience the comfort pictured in the
23rd Psalm. They say that the Lord is their shepherd but they don't let this shepherd into their
lives. Our good shepherd protects and takes care of us, His sheep. In order to receive this comfort
it is necessary to let Him into your life, into your heart, into your very soul. If you will only do this one
thing, you will not want for anything for Jesus Christ the good shepherd will take care of you. I
know this because I have let Him in. Remember you'll want nothing more when you want to follow
the Lord.

Prayer: O Jesus thank you for being my good shepherd, thank that by letting you into my heart and
wanting you, I shall not want. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING GOD
In Jesus Name Amen
"He was among them but that He was going to be in them". (John 14:16-20)

Reflection:

How is the world could this happen, I mean this is impossible. The fact is Jesus Christ
is executed, and buried. Then How could He be in somebody. Well if that is all that
happened that would be the end of it. But thats not all that happened, praise the Lord,
three days after His burial, Christ broke through the bonds of death and was raised from
the dead. If Christ is alive today, in what form is He? HE IS THE SPIRIT. Jesus Christ
became a living spirit, Where? IN YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer:
HOW SHALL WE CALL UPON THE LORD? WE MUST CALL UPON HIM OUT OF A PURE HEART.
(2 TIMOTHY 2:22)

OUR HEART WHICH IS THE SOURCE OF OUR CALLING, MUST BE PURE , SEEKING NOTHING EXCEPT
THE LORD HIMSELF. ALSO, WE MUST CALL WITH A PURE LIP. (ZEPH. 3:9)

REFLECTION:

You know there is one thing that bothers me about many so called Christian. That is gossip. Many Christians that
I know are active participants in that most terrible of sins. We really need to watch our speech, for nothing
contaminates us more than loose lips. Remember the phrase, "Loose lips sink ships". I think loose lips sinks the
soul. I think there is a very important thing to remember
here. If our lips are impure due to gossip, it is difficult
to call on the Lord. And if I can't call on the Lord, I have no reason to live.

PRAYER:

O Lord please give me strength to hold my tongue. I pray that my heart and lips are pure. I realize that gossip
not only can hurt our relationship with each but also with you. Help me to keep my relationship with others
and with You strong and healing. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING GOD.

Scripture:

"Gods's secret plan has been revealed to us. It is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to His good

Reflection:

Can you keep a secret, I can't. When I was a kid if you wanted a secret kept you wouldn't come to me.
As Ralph Kramden used to say "I have a big mouth". It was telegraph, telephone, tele Kim. But here's a secret
I don't have to keep, "what God can do for you". God has a plan for you, I don't know what that plan is, but that it is
centered in His Son Jesus Christ. In our life Jesus Christ provides the strength, and courage each step of the way.
And He does it with arms wide open, and here's the kicker, He pardons (forgives) us.

Prayer:

Oh Mighty God, thank You for Your open arms, it is no secret what You have done for me. THANK YOU
GOD FOR BEING MY GOD. In Jesus name amen!
"The future is seen in the Bible. This knowledge with us God has
shared; By faith we can see the invisible; The glory He as
prepared. (Hess)

Scripture:

"Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16)

Reflection:

There is one thing that I continously learn, as I get older, I do not
age gracefully. Age certainly has its problems. Things such
as failing hearing, and eyesight. I watch a lot of tv so that can
be a real problem for the neighbors. Forgetfulness, aching
back, arthritic hands, all are becoming problems. I just have to
face the fact that I'm getting older. The outward man is
perishing, I guess thats it! Eventually I'm going to die, Why go
on? I go on because of the inward man/women . As I get
older, I find myself thinking about God more. I place my eyes on
Him and on all things that are unseen. And in this focus I have
learned the difference between what is permanent and what is passing
away. My inward man/woman, my soul is permanent. I will be
in glory with my Father, what is more permanent than that!

Prayer:

I thank God for the eternity of my soul. I thank you for there is
nothing between you and I, and that upon Your face Your glory is always
reflected. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING MY GOD!
In Jesus Name Amen...
